In Colombia, anyone who rents a property for periods shorter than 30 calendar days, regularly, is considered a provider of tourism services. Consequently, the lessor must be registered in the National Tourism Registry. For this registration, the lessor has to demonstrate that it is allowed by the Horizontal Property Regulations.

Please note that this requires compliance with legal requirements such as obtaining the Unique Tax Registry, the National Tourism Registry, filling out the Accommodation Registration Card for each guest, complying with guest registration in the Information System for the Reporting of Foreigners (SIRE), among others. Failure to comply with legal requirements can result in fines of up to 2000 times the monthly minimum wage, the closure of the establishment, and even the prohibition of providing tourist services for a term of up to five (5) years.
